**Signed!** Stated First Edition of a VG+ hardcover in a G+ dust jacket. Signed--no inscription--by Gore Vidal on the title page. The contents (xxiii [+1] +158 pp.+ 4 photo pages) are otherwise FN. Green cloth third bound in white cloth with green spine lettering. Bit of rubbing to the bottom edges; bumped spine head edge; and a light smudge on the spine tail. The predominantly green with white and black print dust jacket (designed Edward A. Karr) is not price clipped ($2.95) and is in a protective clear jacket cover. The dust jacket has some surface rubbing; some rubbing to the spine's head and tail edges; a bottom edge chip with a related crease in the front; and a separate bottom edge chip or flap tear, also in the front. Further sunning has caused the spine and part of the front to turn gray. While the dust jacket's rear flap refers to this volume as containing the original TV version of 'Visit to a Small Planet' and other works, it does not. This book contains the Broadway version of the play first performed in New York City on February 7, 1957 at the Booth Theater. The black and white photos inside and on the dust jacket's rear cover feature the original Broadway cast including Cyril Ritchard and Eddie Mayehoff. No ex-library markings!
