Original printed cloth with brown and tan designs on both covers. Spine is rust color with gilt lettering on spine. 8 X 12 inches. Copy has 18 painted illustrations by the illustrator. Several pages are uncut. From the colophon, "Of this edition of Volpone or The Fox fifteen hundred copies have been made for the members of The Limited Editions Club. It has been designed by Francis Meynell and printed by Charles Batey, Printer to the University, at the University Press Oxford, on a paper made for it by William Nash, Limited. The illustrations by Rene' ben Sussan have been printed and coloured through stencils in France. This copy is number 1434 and is signed by the illustrator." Copy comes in matching slipcase. Slipcase is slightly sun faded on tip edge. Pages are very clean and complete. Binding is tight.
