SIGNED on the title page in rather faded blue ink. The pen and ink used has a feathered look because the publisher used a cheap paper. First U.K. edition, from the American sheets. His first novel, and very scarce as a signed copy. There is a lean to the spine and the cloth boards are a bit stained - see photos. Nevertheless, this is a desirable collectable because of the signature, which typically sprawls across the title page.
