The cover is red with a black title block. W. Scott Cunningham wrote an inscription, a date in 1985, and signed on the half-title page. Eight chapters; a section of b/w photos. A pictorial map on each endpaper is titled, "Defense Installations on Wake, 8-23 December 1941." The boards are faded along the top edges. The front board has a 1/4 in. scrape. A third of the back board has light water stain.The foredge has a 3/8 in. light stain; it runs slightly onto the front margins of the frontal matter pages and the first 18 pages. The bottom end of the text block has a 3/4 in., light stain; it does not run onto the pages' edges. Scans e-mailed upon request.
