I Walk with Lions, Inscribed & Signed

The Story of Africa’s great Animal Preserves “ The Royal National Parks of Kenya” as told by their First Director Mervyn Cowie(1909-1996). Kenya’s wildlife, especially the elephants and the rhinos were at the mercy of professional poachers who poisoned the animals with Bow and Arrow and sell them to ruthless traders, Arabs and whites alike. It was a constant battle for authorities to control the poaching. An interesting chapter on the Royal visit of Princess Elizabeth and the duke in February 1952 when Cowie and Jim Corbett were in touch to ensure security. They arranged their own patrol secretly, and Cowie was the first one to expose it through this. Book. First edition, first printing, in very good condition despite its 65 years old. Boldly Inscribed and Signed by Mervyn Cowie on 14 June 1964, illustrated with photographs, 245 pages, Very good copy in like dust jacket.
