In the illustrated dust jacket, with very trivial bumping occasionally along the edges. Will require extra postage due to size and weight. Foreword by Dr. Dame Daphne Sheldrick. A splendid tribute to the stunning beauty of these remarkable endangered animals, with striking duotone photographs by award-winning photographers Cyril Christo and Marie Wilkinson. Inscribed by both authors on the title page: "To ____, / 'They're the last individuals' / Romain Gary / The Roots / of Heaven 1958 / Cyril Christo. Marie Wilkinson." About the Author: Cyril Christo and Marie Wilkinson are photographers who document the relationship between indigenous peoples and the natural world. Their book Lost Africa: The Eyes of Origin was published in 2004. Dr Dame Daphne Sheldrick is founder of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya, and the recipient of many awards for her wildlife conservation work.
