Unclipped jacket with triangular chip to head of rear panel, dampstain at base of spine extending to front and rear. Very good in an about very good jacket. Signed, dated, and inscribed to ffep: "5/9/55 To Fred from HIS PAL Howard." First book, a collection of poems, by American playwright and screenwriter Howard O. Sackler (1929-1982).Notable as the winner in 1969 of the Pulitzer Prize for his play The Great White Hope, Sackler also wrote the screenplay for the 1970 film adaptation starring James Earl Jones and Jane Alexander. His other credits include screenplays for films by Stanley Kubrick, David Greene, and Peter Bogdanovich. This collection decidedly scarce in jacket, and signed.
