B & W Figures and 1 color toned plate; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 349 pages; [SIGNED] 1910. Self-published. Apparent 1st edition, with no subsequent printings or editions noted. Signed vertically by George R. Kirkpatrick to verso of the front flyleaf. Copyright page includes offer of discounts for bulk purchase along with printer’s union bug. Ribbed burgundy cloth lettered in gilt to cover and spine. Moderate shelf soiling to cloth boards; corners lightly bruised. Contents clean and unmarked, save for a penciled sum to rear endpage. Includes black-and-white reproductions of several period editorial cartoon graphics, along with a tissue-guarded color-toned plate. Kirkpatrick’s strongly argued polemic against the capitalist system as an engine of war, in which the working man becomes both cannon fodder and underpaid producer of wealth. Uncommon in early signed copies. VG-; Author Signed by Author.
