First edition. Octavo. 150pp. Pages a trifle toned else fine in very good dust jacket, with a couple of light stains on the rear panel. Signed by the author. Likely autobiographical novel about the author seeking his fortune in the West and becoming part of a mixed race couple. The African-American author was one of eleven children born into poverty in Williamston, South Carolina in 1911, and against all odds achieved his goal of becoming a physician after graduating from Mcharry Medical College.
