Conrad), content clean, bright & tight with b/w illus., & photos, a nice looking white DJ with black outline sketch of map with sketch of soldiers marching on front cover, INCLUDED ARE 2 ITEMS: FIRST ITEM is a handwritten envelope from author with stamp date of July 27, 1984. SECOND ITEM is a 1 1/2 page handwritten letter (8 1/4" x 10") by author W.P. Conrad dated 9/4/84 in envelope. In the letter the author apologizes for delay in responding as he's involved in the celebration of the county's bicentennial. He tells of his life long residence of Greencastle and also his family had been part of Franklin County's past since the early 19th century. He talks of his grandmother telling him stories in childhood of Confederate raids and the 1863 invasion. Their father had served in the Union cause and one of his great uncles was killed at Chancellorsville. Author also explains how he got interested in writing this book.…
