HARDBACK - A near good book with clean blue boards. There is light rubbing to the spine tips, also to the corners of the front and rear boards. A couple of marks to the front and rear panels. Internally the inner text is clean with a few sporadic finger marks throughout the text . Free of any previous owner names or inscriptions, The gilt top-stain is bright, there is light off-setting to the end-papers. The book is the second state with the printed number 1X present to page nine. Signed by the author to the title page. The dust wrapper is a near very good example with chipping to the spine tips, more so to the crown, also with two chips to the upper front panel, with a single v shaped chip to the top centre of the rear panel . Overall, a clean first edition dust wrapper with a touch of browning to the spine. A scarce book, more so signed by the author with an initial print run of a mere 4000 copies in 1924.
