Add to basketThis is the true 1st edition in 1928, although, Martin Secker offered an english 1st of the same title in 1928, and others appeared right after. This is the original Reginald Marsh illustrated edition, limited to 750 copies, of which, this is copy number 748 Original 1/2 grass cloth and pictorial boards designed by Marsh with five illustrations by Marsh, includes a large frontis picture of a wild party with booze and sexuality visible, and many erotic and romantic plates, total of five in the text by Marsh. Signed by Marsh on the title page, the only known signed copy of this important work by Marsh. Note, William Burroughs was inspired by this novel to become a novelist, and Hemingway loved his copy. Note March was a graduate of Amherst and was an editor for the New Yorker in 1924 and began the Talk of the Town feature in this most famous magazine of New York and our times. Great item in very good althought the spine is faded a tad.
