First edition of this early work by Travers and Rice, "one of the first golf books to carry Mr. Rice's name" (Murdoch 784). Octavo, original cloth, illustrated. From the library of Albert W. Tillinghast, with his handwritten inventory card laid in. Tillinghast was a golf course architect andÂone of the most prolific architects in the history of golf; he worked on more than 265 different courses. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2015. A nice example with noted provenance. An early discussion of golf psychology, accompanied by stories of championship matches and champion players. Jerome D. Travers won the U.S. Amateur tile four times, and was the U.S. Open Champion, as an amateur, in 1915. Seller Inventory # 87998
