About this Item
Franklin Library, Pennsylvania, 1984, limited, signed first edition produced exclusively for members of The Signed First Edition Society. This preceded the first trade edition published by Alfred A. Knopf. John Updike was considered to be one of America s greatest writers in the second half of the twentieth century, as evidenced by the fact that he was only one of three writers that have ever won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction twice. A prolific writer Updike published works of poetry, short stories and dozens of Novels, including the well known Rabbit series. This book was made into a highly successful film with the witches played by Cher, Susan Sarandon, and Michelle Pfeiffer and with the delightful, demonic Jack Nicolson. This book, 307 pages, is in fine condition and is bound in green leather with gilt decoration and with marbled endpapers. All edges gilt with a green satin page-marker ribbon. Seller Inventory # 9931
