A Wonder Book, first edition, Hodder & Stoughton, 1922; number 141 of 600 copies signed by the illustrator Arthur Rackham, with tipped in colour plates and illustrations by Rackham. Quarto. Frontispiece and fifteen colour plates protected with tissue guards; further full-page illustrations through the text. Plates and tissue guards without creases. Original cream buckram cloth, with top edge of the text block in gilt, with the other edges uncut. Spine and front cover picture and title in gilt. Corners bumped, light marks to the cloth covers and spine a bit faded; otherwise externally clean. Occasional cracking in the gutter between pages, but book is very much firm and solid, with no loose pages. Light foxing to the front endpapers, otherwise internally largely bright and clean. A lovely copy.
