Full-bound tan cloth, 260pp, illustrated. INSCRIBED "Your Friend" by AUTHOR and also INSCRIBED "Inscribed to Mr. Pegrain (?)" and dated July 30, 1971 by ILLUSTRATOR on the front free endpaper. There is a pen-written date (not part of either inscription) 10-23-1883 at the lower left corner of the ffep (first blank page). Aside from that date, there are no other faults to the book. Dustjacket has very light surface rubbing and slight wear to one corner. A lovely, rare edition signed by both author and illustrator.
