Limited first edition; no 263 of a total edition of 350 copies. Published by The Compton Press Ltd, Tisbury, Wiltshire in 1978. Hardcover. Marbled boards. No dustjacket as issued. Clean pages with gilt top edge. Not priced as issued. A collection of twelve poems by Iris Murdoch for each month of the year, each one focusing on a different bird. There is a separate woodcut drawing by Reynolds Stone corresponding to every poem. A fairly rare item in fine condition.
