A very good plus hardcover copy. First Edition. Inscribed by the author, "Presented to J. W. and L.S. Johnston. By the Author, December 11th 1898." Just above the signing, it is stamped "The Johnston Library, 461 E. Forty Second Street, Chicago, Illinos." Copy is very tight. Very light soiling to covers. Some very light rub spots to cloth. Very small tear to edge of one of the endpapers. Tissue guard is perfect. Pages are clean and white. Some of the gold lettering has flaked off the cover. Illustrated by W. L. Wells and L. Braunhold.
