Hardcover, lacking the dust jacket, probably as issued. Tipped onto the front free end-paper is an "Advance Copy" slip, noting "This book is sent you for review purposes with the compliments of Frederick A Stokes Company" giving the publication date (Sept 15, 1930) and retail price ($2.50). Presumably, the price needed to be included as no jacket was sent out with review copies? This copy also signed and inscribed on the half-title page "New York, 1930/ For/ Frieda and Ben Bay/ Wherever they are/ With the best wishes and/ Affection of/ Louis and mary Bromfield." Overall condition is VG or VG+, with mild toning to the color of the spine; else quite nice. Super inscribed copy, very possibly a review copy sent to the author for the sort of gift-giving implied by the inscription.
