About this Item
1000 copies. First edition. Produced in conjunction with an exhibition at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MassMOCA). It was underwritten by MassMOCA; El Colegio de la Frontera, in Tijuana; The Athenaeum, in La Jolla; and the Stamps Gallery at the University of Michigan. Lavishly illustrated in color and black & white. 298 pp. Heavy decorated boards with black cloth spine. 29 x 21.2 cm. ERRE was born in Tijuana and grew up immersed in Border issues. He has come to be defined by his clever visual arguments and masterfully crafted work. His creations are infused with a poetic sensibility, even when his goal is biting political commentary, as it so often is. He came to prominence in the 1990s with large public installations that dealt with migrants, immigration, and border control, specifically focusing on the Mexican-American border crossing. Texts in parallel Spanish and English by many hands. ISBN 978-607-479-388-8. New. These few signed copies will come from the Athenaeum. Shipping weight will be at least 3 pounds / 1.5 kg.
