Collection of postcards housed in plastic sheets in black file folder. One 11 x 7.5" sheet with 6 x 4.5" portrait lithograph of Hector Berlioz, signed in facsimile, and 210 mostly unused postcards featuring major composers, e.g. 18 cards of Wagner, including two silver gelatin prints produced by H. Hagemeister, NY, and Walhalla-Verlag, Berlin, two silver gelatin prints of Beethoven who is represented with additional 26 different portrait, three silver gelatin prints of Brahms, one with H. v. Bülow, one silver gelatin print each of Offenbach, Liszt, Hayden, Debussy and Chopin. Also represented are Bach, Mozart, Verdi, R. and J. Strauss, Schumann, Schubert, Brahms, Berlioz, Bruckner, and others. The postcards include reproductions of photographs, color and b/w lithographs or offset printing with some in scenic settings, e.g. birthplace of composer, composer with company; many of them reproductions of artwork, portraits, caricatures, etc. 25 of the postcards produced as chromolithographs by T. Presser Co., Philadelphia, 19 of them so-called "Reward Cards" with brief biographies of respective composer on verso. The postcards included in this collection are printed by various European and American publishers. Text in English, French, German, Italian. Some postcards are postmarked with common handwritten notes. Almost all postcards are housed in separate plastic sleeves and deposited in pockets of plastic sheets. USPS Media mail is typically $5 for a book of average weight. Priority mail varies, depending on whether USPS flat-rates are applicable and advantageous for the dimension, weight and distance.
International:
International First Class typically starts at $20. International Priority is typically $35 or less if under four pounds weight, and starts at $40 if over four pounds. International Express is a faster and more expensive option.
