Educated at Hampton Grammar School and the University of Nottingham, Graeme Roe had a marketing career working for major international companies.
He then founded and built an extremely successful advertising agency. At the age of 40 he decided to take up riding and, under David Nicholson's guidance, gained an amateur National Hunt licence. His biggest success was winning the Ayr Yeomanry Cup on Dom Perignon.
He then took out a Jockey Club permit quickly followed by a full licence. Amongst his many winners were All Bright, Dom Perignon, Kitty Wren, We're In The Money, Le Grand Maitre, Fairly Sharp and Bad Bertrich.
Graeme now runs a corporate communications company. He has written two books on business.
These were followed by the quartet of Jay Jessop racing thrillers-A Touch of Vengeance, Odds on Death, Too Close to Call and Dangerous Outsider.
100 Magic Moments of the Turf is a fascinating collection of personal stories and anecdotes from leading trainers, jockeys, and owners plus a cross section of racing's key players behind the scenes. The tales are a gripping mix of exciting, amusing and sometimes tragic account of true events, all illustrated, many with colour pictures.
