Condition: Very good- please read description below for specific details and look carefully at the photographs. Questions welcome. | Fynmore Archive ? Notes and Queries, Eleventh Series, Volume VI (July?December 1912). Bound in half leather with gilt-titled black and moss-colored spine labels, raised bands, and pebbled boards. The binding remains secure and tight with light edge rubbing; contents clean, bright, and complete. This exceptional research volume, compiled by antiquarian A. H. W. Fynmore of Eastbourne (descendant of Lt. Col. R. J. Fynmore), contains a remarkable array of late-Edwardian and early-Georgian press clippings, letters, and scholarly correspondence relating to the British antiquarian movement. Its subjects range from Professor Walter W. Skeat's obituary and library dispersal (1912) to Florence Nightingale memorials , Bognor Regis and Royal Borough charters , and the rediscovery of medieval alabaster panels at York (1957) . Of particular significance are the autograph letters bound in manuscript: ? A two-page ALS from Lerwick, Dec. 26, 1912 , discussing historical misattributions in Charles II documents. ? A signed letter from J. T. Malcolm analyzing Burnet and Wentworth sources in early Stuart historiography. ? A contemporary postcard addressed to Fynmore, reinforcing the network of correspondents contributing to Notes and Queries . Illustrated clippings include images of Professor Skeat , Sir Jeffery Hudson , the York Alabaster panels , and coastal craft such as the Severn Trow and Hastings fishing boats , evoking Fynmore's maritime interests.
