See photos for condition details. This book is in several pieces and is missing the front and rear covers as well as the entire spine. All of the page sections are very precariously held together by the original binding string with the exception of the quadrant of pages starting at 629 through the rear end page. What makes this book special ( even in this condition) is that it is signed and numbered by the author an chess study composer on the upper corner of the title page. The beginning of this book starts with the half title page and ends with the blank rear end page. The paper is toned and the half title page has some penciling along the top edge as well as spotting where you could see something sat on top of this for quite some time, and some small tears are present. There are also a few sections of pages, such as the preface and around page 167 where there are brown spots along the top edge letter not the same as foxing spots. There also some sections of the pages that are still uncut along the top edge but we only found a couple of pages like this. The majority the pages are unmarked although the page for group 1 as a small red checkmark and 2/46 lightly written in pencil. The detached section of pages from the back also has a small stain in the upper corner. The exterior top edge also has spotting present. The book is in pieces but does appear to be complete, making this an excellent candidate for rebinding.
