folio. five prints, original slipcase. New News Face. Privately issued type specimen limited to 100 numbered copies signed by the contributors. A fine copy. With 4 illustrated 'letterings' by Unger, Oosterhof, Vermaas, and Mirjam Bode. A portfolio of five prints all inspired by the new Swift typeface. Swift is a digital printing type, designed by Gerard Unger (1942-2018) for use in newspapers and magazines, based on minute study of how letter forms behave under the heavy pressure of newspaper production. This is a result of a collaboration with artist, designer and printer friends. Unger compiled and designed a page from a 'Daily Swift' newspaper. Frans Oosterhof has pictured 'flying over Holland'. The poem 'Swifts' by the Flemish poet Guido Gezelle is presented in a design by Chris Vermaas. Finally, there is a Swift type specimen, medium, italic and bold, designed by Mirjam Bode. The portfolio construction is by Karel Meijers.
