On the half title of volume one in fountain pen "Edmund D. Adcock Chicago 1926 Carl Sandburg". Pages and hinges are fine. No foxing. No tanning. No odor. Very slight scuffing on volume II at the edges of the leather. Gold design and lettering is bright. Raised bands. Gold top edges. Volume I is third printing. Volume II appears to be first printing (no additional printing noted). Certainly a matched set. Edmund D. Adcock was a prominant attorney at the time. Priced to sell. I;m not getting any younger.
