Across the Wheatgrass

North Dakota is a state poorly understood by those who haven't lived here. It is a land that lends itself to stereotypes easily grasped and readily dismissed. Across the Wheatgrass is a book about natural resources and the outdoors. It offers the opportunity to learn about wildlife management through the activities of managers, both public and private. There are hunting and fishing stories, as well as interviews with old-timers about their early day activities - what drew them to the prairie and why they stayed. This publication contains 38 selected stories presented in four sections. The voices are those of North Dakota men and women blended by the author into an entertaining and enlightening volume, particularly timely coming as it does during North Dakota's Centennial.
