He writes about and photographs the north with expertise in northern mining and Alaskan & Yukon gold rush history. He has written twelve books on gold and northern history. His work has appeared in publications like; California Mining Journal, Gold & Treasure Hunter, Lost Treasure, Western & Eastern Treasures, Alaska Magazine, Alaska Geographic, Country Magazine, Country Woman, Farm & Ranch, Christian Science Monitor, Iditarod Runner, Anchorage Daily News, Yukon Reader, and many more.
