Original watercolour and gold paint over pen & ink by Albert Rutherston (1881 - 1953) of a Costume Design for a Nymph in, 'Le Reveil De Flore', a ballet produced by Anna Pavlova in 1914 (315 mm x 210 mm). Signed and dated 'ALBERT R 1914', and inscribed, 'NO 16 - 4 NYMPHS'. A piece of the original silk material is attached lower right. One of Rutherston's last theatrical commissions prior to the onset of the First World War was to design the costumes and scenery for a new production, 'La Reveil De Flore', a ballet starring Anna Pavlova performed in London and the USA in 1914. Mounted in conservation board and framed in contemporary (1930's) gilt decorated frame. In excellent condition. (Provenance Rutherston family).
