RANDALL JARRELL (1914-1965). Randall Jarrell was an American poet, essayist, novelist, literary critic, and children's author. His most famous works include The Woman at the Washington Zoo, The Lost World, The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner, and Pictures from an Institution.Signed Envelope. New York, NY. 1964. An envelope signed Randall to Michael de Capua. Dear Michael: another artichoke Sorry, Randall. Michael de Capua was Randall Jarrells editor in the 1960s and published his childrens book The Animal Family. This envelope was sent the year before Jarrells unresolved death, officially ruled an accident but many thought to be suicide. This envelope is completely in Jarrells handwriting and is in great condition.
