ROSNY, J.A. Autograph Letter Signed. One page, in French, about 20 words. The letter has not been translated but apparently making an appointment. The letter is not addressed to anyone. [Glad to provide a scan]. J.H. Rosny was the pseudonym of brothers Joseph Henri Honore Boex [1856-1940] and Seraphin Justin Francois Boex [1859-1948]. They are considered to be among the founders of modern science fiction by writing a series of novels and short stories about natural, prehistoric and fantasy subjects between 1886 to 1909. I have been unable to locate any other copies of their signatures and I am assuming this is signed by Joseph Henri Boex. The brothers ended their collaboration in 1909 with Joseph Henri then signing his name "J.H. Rosny aine (Sr.)" and Seraphin signing "J.A. Rosny jeune (Jr.)." Joseph Henri became somewhat better known after the break up and many of the joint Rosny works are incorrectly attributed only to him. Very Good (fold, small mounting traces on verso). Scarce! $250.00.
