Item description from seller

From Hall of Famer Carl Hubbell to businessman Bob O'Conner. Collection of four ALS (two pages and two notecards) and one envelope (dated Oct. 3, 1980). This collection contains four separate correspondences from Carl Hubbell to Bob O'Connor. In the other two, Hubbell expresses concerns about a recent stroke affecting his ability to sign materials, and makes O'Connor aware of a mistake that he made while signing balls. Hubbell, a Hall of Fame pitcher who spent his entire career with the Giants, won National League MVP honors twice (1933, 1936) and was selected for nine All-Star games. Perhaps his most iconic moment in the league was striking out five all-time great hitters in a row in the 1934 All-Star Game: Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx, Al Simmons, and Joe Cronin.…
