Item description from seller

"The father of the religious education movement" was a distinguished Northwestern University and Union Theological Seminary professor whose 1917 "A Social Theory of Religious Education" is considered a seminal work in its field. ANS, 1p, 5½" X 8½", New York, NY, 29 December 1924. Near fine. Addressed to Miss Moore. Archivally closed (on verso) short tear at upper right. On letterhead of Teachers College at Columbia University, where Coe taught from 1922 to 1927, Coe writes, perhaps to a pupil: "On Wednesday I am to be in Washington. How would tomorrow (Tuesday) at 3 o'clock do?" Nicely penned.
