This Presbyterian clergyman penned popular historical biographies such as "The Life of the General Lafayette" (1851), "The Life of Louis Kossuth" (1866) and many others; his brother Joel penned even more books -- "Prolific, superficial and popular," wrote one source. ANS, 1p, 4" X 6", n.p., n.y. Addressed to Mr. Parsons. Very good. Minor binding traces along jagged left edge; faintly age toned. Cryptic: "As I cannot drop in until a later hour, may I trouble you to give 'Barty' a seat with some one he knows, or where he will not trouble you." Curious. Seller Inventory # 32504
