8" x 6.25", 1 p. folded. In a note of condolence, Whiting professes the heartfelt poetic emotion for which she was well known. Fine note with no defects noted. Lilian Whiting (October 3, 1847 - April 30, 1942) was an early female pioneer in field of American journalism. She served as newspaper editor-in-chief (Boston Budget), column writer and author of poetry and short stories. Lilian was from a heralded lineage as a direct descendant of Cotton Mather on her mother's side and from Rev. William Whiting, the first Unitarian Minister in Massachusetts from her father's side.
