READ, Opie. Autograph Signature. An autograph sentiment in pencil, signed by Read: "The philosopher may forget; the politician must remember. Opie Read. June 7, 1930." Tipped to the same sheet as the autograph sentiment is a photograph of Read with American author Robert Herrick and the sheet is also apparently signed by Herrick. Also with a typed letter signed from Read, dated May 19, 1932, presumably forwarding the item. Unusual! $85.00.
