Important autographed letter signed "R.H. Fitz," confirming the early use of inoculation against child-rated disease. 2 pages, 8vo, each measuring 8.5 x 5.5 inches, on personal stationery. Boston, October 19, 1911. Horizontal folds; near fine condition. "Lady Montague deserves the credit of being the first English advocate. Her husband was then ambassador at.; noble--and she safeguarded her children--in that city. The custom of inoculation was well understood.
