Paper covers rubbed with some nicks and bumping at edges; slender wear along spine fold with short tear at head. Some foxing. Author's seven-line blue ink inscription on title page: "To Louise Withers | a | gardener extraordinaire | Best Regards | William | G. Lord." Rust to staples but binding remains firm.
