Very good second edition signed by Hugh MacLennan on the title page. Binding square and tight. Pages clean and unmarked. Very slight bumping to spine ends. Age-toning to both front and rear paste-downs, front and rear end papers. Previous owner's inscription to front end paper. Fair dust jacket. Price-clipped. General wear. Some creasing to spine ends and edges. 1 inch tear to top right of back cover. 1 inch by 1 inch area of loss to top of spine. First few letters of title therefore missing.1 inch by 0.5 inch area of loss to bottom of spine. 1 inch by 1 inch area of loss to top right of front cover. A desirable early printing of the famous Canadian novel signed by Hugh MacLennan.
