Bound by Zaehnsdorf in half crushed morocco and marbled paper-covered boards. Comprised of a third edition of the First Part and a second edition of the Second Part.Inscribed by the author to the front blank, 'B. P. Some D. B.'s in much friendship from C G M', dated October 1900. Written by Claude Goldsmid Montefiore, a scholar of the Hebrew Bible and intellectual founder of Anglo-Liberal Judaism. Montefiore was known for his contributions in the contexts of modern Jewish religious though, and strived to improve the relationship between Judaism and Christianity.These two works form a commentary on the Bible, with the author's moral reflections from a place of "higher criticism", intended for the use of Jewish parents and their children. With chapters on the history of the Bible, notable figures and stories, explanations of different events, and much more. Bound by Zaehnsdorf in half crushed morocco and marbled paper-covered boards.
