The Big Ranch in the Ozarks: A Journey of the Greatest Generation

Saddle up for a memoir filled with adventure, history, and family stories from the American heartland. The Big Ranch in The Ozarks: A Journey of the Greatest Generation will take you on a journey with the Erwin family through the Roaring Twenties, Great Depression, World War II, leading to the 1960s era when the family fulfilled their dream to own a cattle ranch in the heart of the Missouri Ozarks. If that wasn’t enough, the book also chronicles Robin’s father’s death-defying yearlong adventure as an aerial agricultural pilot ferrying a Grumman G164 Ag Cat biplane on the North Atlantic air ferry route flying from New York City to Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. There are accounts of famous World War II battles, the important roles Mary and the women of the 1940s played in the war effort that created the suburbs of America, Nellie’s bold career as a highly esteemed Harvey House girl, and Eva’s struggles as a divorced mother in the Great Depression raising three young girls alone. The Big Ranch in The Ozarks shares with readers Robin (Erwin) Bunton Morris’s life as a child on the Flying ^E^ Ranch. Her memories, both amusing and unsettling, take you back to a time and place very different from today.
