About the Author
Rev. Roger L. Prokop was born May 17, 1935 in Elmira, NY. He graduated from the Elmira Free Academy in 1953 and holds degrees from Hamilton College, the General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church, Harvard University, and the University of Michigan. From the 1960s to the 80s he served as an Episcopal priest in New York and Michigan. He also taught at the College of Emmanuel and St. Chad and at the UofM Institute of Gerontology. In 1986, after many years of prayer and reflection Fr. Prokop entered the Roman Catholic Church and was soon ordained a priest in the Diocese of Lansing, MI. He served there until 2005 when he retired to Rock Hill, SC and became the first priest associate of the Oratory of St. Philip Neri. He served part-time in the Diocese of Charleston until a brain tumor was diagnosed in May 2007. His journey with brain cancer can be found at www.frprokop.com.
