Clipped signature of General Lee (measuring 2.25 in. x 1 in.) laid on accompanying note (~5 in. x 3 in.) reading: "Taken from the residence of General Robert Lee at Arlington Heights Oct 1st/64." Museum framed and mounted with a modern photo taken by Brady immediately post-war (wood frame measures 9 in. x 17.5 in.). Photograph and frame in Very Good condition; mild age toning to clip and note. JL Consignment. Shelved in DuPont. Arlington Heights, also known as Arlington Estate, was the home of General Robert E. Lee's family. It is the current location of Arlington National Cemetery. The authorize establishment of burials began on June 15, 1864, whereas this signature was purportedly taken from Arlington House in October. 1384720. Shelved Dupont Bookstore.
