(monogrammed) and signed manuscript dedication page in japanese Calligraphy; 22 doublesh. with 2 pages of brushwork each, another doublepage multi-colour brushwork; each doublesheet loosely inserted in slightly stronger as untrimmed folded Japan-paper sheets. - Loose in folded plain-white cardboard; 4to.(ca. 32 x 24 x 2 cm). *** A WONDERFUL SET OF TOKI'S BRUSHWORK ORIGINALS INCL. 3 WATER-COLOURS (2 doublepage, 1 - igniting the olympic flame - signed); WITH THE ARTIST'S HOLOGRAPH DEDICATION PAGE TO GERD ABELBECK and a few of his red artist-stamps. During his cooperation with the japanese sports-ministry Abelbeck created the Cinema-Movie 'Nisshin Geppo'(Japan - Great Country of Sports) in which Toki appeared as former professional athlete, now sports-university teacher as well as artist teaching brushwork-classes ('Sumi-e'). The movie was awarded the National Filmprize at the 'Berliner Filmfestspiele'(Berlin Film Festival). The colour-paintings are rather abstract while the majority of black-and-white brush-drawings represent all kind of olympic disciplines (Summer- and Winter-Games) in Toki's unique pictographic style. He also illustrated the German National Olympic Committee's (NOK) official book-edition for the 18th Summer-Olympics in Tokyo 1964 which is enclosed in this offer. --- Also in stock: another set of 59 original brushworks by Toki from Abelbeck's personal estate, most of them monogrammed by the artist. . .
