New. An unread, austerely elegant production by Fred Cray. Limited Edition of 200 numbered and signed copies on the Back Limitation Page - this is #22. Gray cloth boards with a photographic reproduction pasted in front and metallic-silver titles embossed on the spine. The book opens naturally to the back signature page. There is no text. Four loose 4 x 6 unique postcards laid in. Printed on pristine-white, thick coated stock paper. Without a DJ or copyright page, as issued. Unpaginated. 8 x 10" tall. "Changing The Guard" is Cray?s most rigorous "Unique Photographs" project. The title refers to the fact that each image shows the same self-portrait superimposed with another photographically sourced image, creating a unique image. Cray calls each image a 'double-printed photograph' of which there is an infinite number "left out in the world as unique photographs". An esoteric figure, Cray keeps American Surrealism and the very idea of art alive today.
