A Child of Miracles

Very good book with no wear in a used looking jacket with a light water-stain on it. Has an unusaul inscription in ink-pen by the author known as "the Padre of Guadalcanal" to a Congressional Medal of Honor awardee for his action on "Sugar-Loaf Hill." It reads as follows: "January 1986 to" Major General James Day USMC from Sig Carlson in rememberance of "Sugar-Loaf Hill" with added blessings and admiration fomr "The Padre" Father Fred Gehring." Probably a gift from the 'indestructable Marine" Sigurd Carlson. What a fascinating association copy involving Sigurd Carlson, Major General James Day and the Padre of Guadalcanal.
