It is remarkable, in view of the power wielded by the big investment institutions, how little has been written about them, especially from an analytical rather than anecdotal standpoint. The financial world, and the business world it drives, need a better understanding of the City and the behaviour of equity - the "visible" part of what the City does. In The City; Inside the Great Expectations Machine , Investment Analyst Tony Golding takes you inside the equity market and explains its structure, dynamics and behaviour. An easy-to-read, comprehensive analysis of the big investment institutions who dominate the stock market, with key insights into their impact on the City, industry and the private investor. This book will explain how the institutions achieved their ascendancy, acquire their funds, invest those funds and significantly influence other City activities and the corporate world in the process. The book will trace the flow of funds through the City and offer valuable insights into how fund managers behave, what drives their performance, the pressures they are under and the effects of their actions on the investment and corporate worlds. The behaviour of the investment institutions - pension funds, insurance companies, unit trusts, investment trusts - touches, in one way or another, the great majority of those living in the UK. To an extent that few outside the City appreciate, they dominate the London stock market, both in terms of ownership and activity.

Terms of sale
Postage is based on the weight. We have created different shipping templates for different kinds of items that we sell based on the weight class of books, but also on the value of certain other items that require specialized shipping.
We have 7 different shipping templates: One for light items such as Audio Cds, four for books and two for comic books.
As a example, for most books weighing up to 2.9 lbs (1.3kg) standard postage within Canada is $11.99USD to the USA with Media Mail is $7.99USD and for "standard" International mail is $36.00USD. GST is charged on books and shipping for all Canadian customers.
The shipping templates have a default amount for a second book in the same order but this applies only to items of the same weight class or category. For example, the second CD is charged at $6. Obviously we cannot send a CD and then a second book weighing 7 lbs for a total of $12. We recommend that for orders of multiple items, to contact us to get a quote for shipping. Books requiring special shipping or priority shipping will be quoted. We are glad to quote delivery costs to International buyers. International shipping has become more complicated so it is best to contact us as to the cost and time required for delivery.
Books are carefully wrapped and usually shipped in corrugated cardboard cartons. Books are returnable for a full refund if the book is not as described. The book price only will be refunded for any other reason. Please notify JWMah in advance of any return within 7 days of receipt of the book before sending it back so that we can give you the correct return address for your particular location. .
