Advance Copy bound in pictorial covers (same as dust jacket). Vg, solid copy with some minor rubs to front panel and with some foxing to front and rear endpapers. Laid in at various pages of the text are four handwritten notes discussing the story up to their respective plot points apparently from certain of the publisher's management. The notes are SIGNED BY Ted Rinehart, Stanley Rinehart, John Farrar, and, perhaps friend of the publishers, Ogden Nash (whose note begins "Am I particularly stuipid today or is the author particularly baffling? I've been guessing all around the bush unable to make up my mind."). A unique window into thirties mystery writing and publishing. The second Lt. Joseph Kelly mystery. Uncommon title.
