About the Author: Harry Mark Petrakis has been praised by the New York Times as "one of our finest writers" and has twice been nominated for the National Book Award. From his background as the son of a Greek Orthodox priest in Chicago's Greek-American community, he authenticates the characters in this book and in his other novels, including "The Hour of the Bell," "Nick the Greek," "A Dream of Kings" and its sequel, "Ghost of the Sun." He is married, with three sons, and in addition to writing, he lectures and teaches at writers' conferences.
