The book is bound in fine green cloth with the title stamped in gilt on the front cover and spine. The spine has been reattached to the text block using archival adhesive. Hinges are cracked. Top edges bright gilt. Name of previous owner on the front paste-down. Signed by the author without inscription and dated "June,26,1914" on the ffe. Otherwise, pages are immaculate; lightly age-toned, smooth and unmarked. Frontis-piece photograph" The University at Night" with tissue guard intact. American College & University Series. The author was President of the university, Third Assistant Secretary of War and President of the Carnegie Corporation. He also founded the New York Young Republican Club, the oldest chapter in the U.S. Seller Inventory # ABE-1728246045604

Friends of the Curtis Memorial Library, based in Brunswick, Maine is a non-profit corporation that exists solely to assist the Curtis Memorial Library in its many activities, principally through fundraising by the sale of used books. Operating through a retail outlet located at 200 Maine St. in Brunswick and through its on-line sales activities, Curtis Friends operates only with volunteers from the local community and sells only those books donated by its constituents. Curtis Friends has been in existence for several decades.
